Climatic Design LLC has performed a preliminary energy analysis for the Maryland Female Detention Center based on the simulation results of a simple box energy model. Multiple Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) were modeled to satisfy requirements of the LEED v4 IP credit. The simulation results demonstrated that by applying the recommended ECMs to the proposed design the project not only meets Minimum Energy Performance requirement but also qualifies for additional LEED points. The facility would be more than 19% energy cost efficient than the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 reference model. This equals to seven (7) points for a LEED-NC v4 project.
